Rating:

From the founders of Babeland, Claire Cavanah and Rachel Venning, comes Moregasm; Babeland’s Guide to Mind-Blowing Sex.

For someone who is inexperienced in solo sex or sex with a partner,  it’s a wonderful starting point to learn those little things about your body as well as answer some of the basic questions you might stay up late google-fu-ing.  However for those who are more experienced it will read like a refresher course that you don’t take much away from.

Unlike most guides that strive to cover most of your basic topics from the anatomy and hot spots of the  female and male bodies to  masturbation and different sex positions, Moregasm delivers the information in a clear manner that won’t leave you reaching for your dictionary. They also take a step up by including a lot of photos from cartoon drawings of the clitoris to real people and products. Something I enjoy in a guide. It makes reading about how to give an excellent blow-job and introducing strap-ons so much easier and fun.

On a more serious note I am a firm believer in communication.  Not once have I ever faked with my Husband, and I never will. Letting your partner know what pleases you and what doesn’t is important. In my opinion it is very disrespectful to fake with your partner and can be very hurtful if they find out that you have. Which is why I loved the fact that Claire and Rachel included a detailed chapter about the importance of communication in and out of the bedroom. There are wonderful tips about how to bring up problems and unfulfilled desires with your partner. After all, they are not mind readers.

My favorite suggestion is the “Yes/No/Maybe” list that is often handed out in the Babeland workshops. This list includes suggested activities that you can consider for bedroom play. Some examples are  anal play, bondage, flogging, gags, gender play, outdoor sex, strap on sex, mutual masturbation and watching porn. It’s a great starting point to see what your partner is interested in, you may be surprised to find that you are interested in similar things. You can click the image to show a larger version of the page.

While most of the information included I already know I was pleased to find that not only was there a chapter about communications but chapters for the many options of safe-sex with do’s and don’ts and the different types of sex toy materials with basic how to care instructions as well. This is something that I have yet to find in other guides that I’ve read. Not enough women and men are aware of all the options available and why you shouldn’t use silicone lubricant with silicone toys.

After finishing Moregasm I feel that most of the information included is geared toward women, especially those interested in heterosexual relationships. There is little to no information geared toward those interested in homosexual relationships. Sure you can apply the chapters to suit your need, but I found it odd that a guide that makes mention of the different types of relationships and body identifications did not include much information aimed towards it.

Overall Moregasm is definitely something that I would feel comfortable suggesting to beginners. It is probably the one book that I would also like to see handed out to teenagers in sex-ed class. Especially if most sex-ed classes were like mine. Full of “masturbation and sex is bad! If you do it, you will die.” talk.

It’s such a cool looking book. I really want to get it in the near future. Like, really bad.
