Review: Babeland Massage Candle

Babeland Massage Candle

I’ve always dreamed of lining my hallway and bedroom with candles. To bask in the soft yellow light they illuminate the room with. Something about candles is relaxing and causes a certain mood to be set. While I can’t bask in the glow of the tiny 3oz Babeland Body Massage Candle, I can use it in addition to others to help set the mood. Better yet, I can use it during the mood. Duel purpose items for the win.

Upon opening the chic cylinder containing the candle I was greeted with the mango vanilla scent of my choice. Nothing too fruity, but not overwhelming with the spicy vanilla scent either. Just right. The soy-wax and infused shea butter candle is beautifully housed in a 3oz glass bow-spool shaped votive. The votive has no designs, frills, or marks on it. No one would know this was a massage candle unless they flipped it upside down to reveal the Babeland massage candle sticker. For those who worry someone might go to those lengths the sticker is easily removable-able, leaving you with a plain glass votive that only you  know the secrets of.

Using the candle is easy. Simply light the wick and let the wax melt into a small pool of massage oil. Blow out and let it sit for a minute to cool before pouring onto your desired skin area of choice. In my experience the massage oil was never too hot after blowing out the candle and using straight away, but Maverick  has a high threshold for heat. The oil goes on smoothly and absorbs into the skin without leaving that oily residue that makes you hit the shower. The one thing it does leave behind is a light lingering scent. Nothing too strong but enough to be noticed while cuddling if you use a lot of it.

If Mango Vanilla isn’t your cup of tea, the candle comes in three other scents for you to enjoy. They are Rice Flower, Citron Fig, and Pashmina. Each candle comes in a stylish white cardboard cylinder decorated with silver + and – of the Babeland logo. The only touch of color comes from the sticker of the scent you choose.

Included with the candle is a small pink matchbox containing ten wooden matches. Enough to get anyone started. Maybe I’m just weird but I love the cylinder box and design of the candle. Simple, elegant, and definitely something you can give as a gift without seeming cheap.
