Review: Heart 2 Heart Whip

August 17, 2010

Heart2Heart Whip $48 from Babeland

I fell in love with the Heart 2 Heart Whip by PHS International the moment I opened the package. I couldn’t help but ooo, awe, and tweet about my joy. I had found the perfect flogger for Maverick and I. PHS Internationally really took the time to create a quality craftsmanship flogger that leaves you with a great first impression.

The sturdy handle is roughly six inches long and made up of a light-weight 1” thick wooden dowel rod wrapped in black leather. Its design is what really makes this flogger so interesting and desirable. The leather on the handle is secured down with five evenly spaced metal brads. Between the brads the leather are two small red hearts with the points facing each other. It almost gives an Alice in Wonderland feel to it. The end of the handle features a D-ring for easy hanging. You can even add a leather cord through it if you want it to hang freely from your wrist.

Coming to the falls your positive impression will only continue. They are 15” long and 1/4th” wide with a angled end. Each fall is also about 3mm thick which adds the right amount of weight and creates a balanced durable feel. We’ve used this flogger a lot and have yet to experience any tangling, marring, or fraying. The only problem we have come across is the rare occurrence shedding from the unfinished sides of the falls. Nothing to be concerned about as it rarely happens and isn’t bothersome when it does.

Floggers are great for whipping, teasing, punishing, and can even be used for intimidation. With a flick of the wrist you can land a gentle bite to your partners behind. With a little more force you can bring your partner to tears. This flogger is no different and the choice is up to you.

Personally I like to do a bit of teasing by dragging the falls across Mavericks bottom or back before whipping. He’s quite sensitive so watching his goosebumps from anticipation is just awesome. The falls themselves are quite soft  and if dragged the right way tickle.

One thing I’ve noticed when delivering blows is that they not only make that nice thwack sound upon impact but the falls seem to land in a group as well to create a heavy yet gentle blow.  If you aim with the center of the falls you’ll get a dull thud, but if you aim with the angled tips you’ll leave a nice bite. Sometimes I hold a majority of the falls with the handle to enhance the bite. So you’ll have to experiment to find the proper technique for yourself and your partner.

I definitely recommend this for anyone looking to put a bit of BDSM into their lives who want a flogger that will last them from the beginner stages to advanced play.
